WHL Head Coach Is Suspended Indefinitely After Attacking His Player
In breaking news, the Swift Current Broncos of the WHL have taken swift action, suspending head coach Devan Praught indefinitely after an alleged on-ice altercation with a player during Monday's practice. The team's General Manager, Chad Leslie, announced the suspension, citing a potential violation of the Western Hockey League Standards of Conduct.
The incident reportedly involved Praught confronting 17-year-old defenseman Josh Fluker in a heated exchange, with video evidence showing Praught swinging his stick at Fluker. The WHL Security Network is currently reviewing the matter.
Assistant Coach Taras McEwen will step in as the head coach during Praught's suspension. This marks the second time this season that a WHL coach faces suspension for breaching the Code of Conduct, highlighting the league's commitment to maintaining high standards.
The WHL continues to investigate the incident, with no additional comments provided at this time.
