Flames' Rasmus Andersson broke his silence on trade speculation when speaking to 'Expressen', saying he has not given Calgary any team names yet.
He added that he only recently declined a significant long-term sign and trade offer from another NHL team, pending family matters.
Andersson's comments end uncertainty, signaling potential shift in team dynamics and roster moves
That team wasn't one of the clubs he'd be willing to report to should he be traded, a list on which he'd already submitted to the Flames. He also explained that he hasn't concentrated his mind on one particular option.
Re trade rumours: "I have not given Calgary a team"; "I haven't actually spoken to Calgary since they made the request, which was a month and a half ago".

Since rejecting that outside offer, the discussion between Andersson and the Flames regarding a new contract has been on hold. It's not certain whether Calgary has put trade talks on hold or simply not had an offer come in that they'd consider acceptable.
The 28-year-old, who scored 11 and recorded 20 assists in 81 games during last season, has been rumored to be coveted by the Los Angeles Kings and Ottawa Senators.
This could impact trade market activity and reshape the Flames' future lineup and strategy
With unrestricted free agency approaching next July 2026, rumors of a trade have gained strength all summer.
Without a midseason extension, Andersson will be red hot entering the 2026 trade deadline. If he isn't signed by the Flames, they will have no choice but to make the tough decision: trade him for value or lose him for nothing as a free agent.
