Petr Mrazek Reveals Genuine Reason Behind Re-Signing with Chicago
Petr Mrazek, the seasoned goaltender, has hit his stride with the Chicago Blackhawks this season, following a trade from Toronto that also involved a draft pick swap.
Since joining the Blackhawks, Mrazek has become a regular player under Luke Richardson, a change that has breathed new life into his career.
The team acknowledged his contributions by offering and subsequently signing him to a new contract. The deal comes with an average annual value (AAV) of $4.25 million and total compensation of $8.4 million.
This season, Mrazek has showcased improved performance, raising his save percentage from .894 last year to .907. Notably, he's in his best physical condition since the 2020-2021 season when he played for the Carolina Hurricanes.
Expressing his enthusiasm about Chicago, Mrazek highlighted the honor of being part of one of the NHL's original six teams. He sees Chicago as one of the best places to play in the league and looks forward to continuing as a Blackhawk through the 2026 season with his new contract.
Having participated in 32 games this season, Mrazek holds a 12-17-1 record, with a 3.01 GAA and a .907 SV%.
