Chicago Blackhawks Make A Significant Move Signing Young Star To NHL Contract
Today marked a significant step for Landon Slaggert and the Chicago Blackhawks as they inked the promising prospect to his initial NHL deal, following his time at Notre Dame.
The Blackhawks have officially brought Slaggert into the fold with an entry-level contract, capitalizing on the moment right after Notre Dame's season came to a close. The team's journey ended last night in the NCAA Big Ten tournament, paving the way for Slaggert to step up to the professional ranks.
Blackhawks' management, including Head Coach Kyle Davidson, has been vocal about Slaggert's progress and potential. Davidson highlighted the qualities and improvements in Slaggert's gameplay over his tenure with Notre Dame, where he not only took on a leadership role as an assistant captain but also showcased his scoring ability.
In this season alone, Slaggert impressed with 20 goals and 31 points across 36 games, demonstrating his prowess on the ice with a notable two-point performance even as Notre Dame faced a tough 4-3 defeat against the University of Michigan, marking the end of their tournament run.
