The Vancouver Canucks and their supporters are left fuming over the NHL's decision regarding an incident from Friday night's game.

Early in the second period, Canucks forward Nils Hoglander was involved in a tussle with Edmonton Oilers' Derek Ryan. After a shove from Hoglander, Ryan retaliated by spearing him in the groin, an action caught on camera.
The on-ice officials assessed a two-minute minor for slashing to Ryan and a minor for interference to Hoglander, which many found surprising.

Fans and pundits alike expected some form of harsher repercussion for Ryan from the NHL's Department of Player Safety, particularly a fine or a suspension. However, according to reporter Irfaan Gaffar, the league has opted not to impose any additional penalties.
There won't be any supplemental discipline for Edmonton's Derek Ryan for his penalty on Vancouver's Nils Höglander.
This decision has certainly raised eyebrows, considering the nature of the incident, and it's clear that this storyline will add extra tension to the upcoming Game 3 on Sunday night.
