Brad Marchand is a native of Nova Scotia, and after winning the Stanley Cup, he chose to visit his home province and play a key role in several Children's charities.
While he has a reputation around the NHL of being very hated by other players and opposing fans, Brad Marchand has shown off his personality in the last few years, and for the most part, fans around the league have started to enjoy his work.
Now, after winning the Stanley Cup and celebrating, he's doing some great work in the community, with a recent event in his home province of Nova Scotia showing just what the character is of the former Boston Bruins captain.
Marchand helps to raise money for Children's Charities at Dairy Queen
Over the past few days, Marchand has been in his home province of Nova Scotia in Halifax, with fans coming to the Fall River Dairy Queen as a part of DQ's
Miracle Treat Day, an event that aims to raise money for Children's Charities across Canada.
Unsurprisingly, Marchand was thrilled to take part in the event, with his comments after revealing just how much the opportunity to give back, especially to children means to the veteran star.
"I love when there's opportunities like this to be involved, especially with children's charities. Because it does hit home a lot having kids. It means a lot to be part of things like this. And I really enjoy doing things back home here in the Halifax area."
While some may still see Marchand as a bad guy and others may hate him due to his presence on the Panthers, it's hard to deny just how much this will mean to so many children across Canada and those that got the chance to meet Marchand, with all of this going to a fantastic cause.
