The Minnesota Wild Provide A Crucial Health Update After Recent Injury
Minnesota Wild forward Vinni Lettieri faced a setback when he suffered a broken foot while blocking a shot against the Winnipeg Jets on December 30. Since then, he has missed the last 15 games, but there's good news on the horizon.
Although he returned to practice at the end of last month, Lettieri wasn't quite ready to hit the ice. However, things have changed, as the Wild announced that Lettieri has been activated from injured reserve and played tonight against the Chicago Blackhawks at United Center.
Lettieri's return marks a homecoming of sorts, as he originally played collegiate hockey with the University of Minnesota. Despite going undrafted, he signed with the New York Rangers in 2017, later joining the Anaheim Ducks before ultimately landing with the Boston Bruins.
With 10 goals and 12 assists in 102 career NHL games, Lettieri looks to make an impact as he rejoins the Wild lineup after scoring three goals and an assist in 19 games this season.
