Sheldon Keefe is not a very good NHL coach, according to the majority of Toronto Maple Leaf supporters. In his five years as the team's head coach, Keefe was unable to advance the Maple Leafs past the second round. It is hard to believe given the team's talent level, and it is obvious why he lost faith in the management.
He doesn't appear to have lost faith in other teams in the league, though. It now appears that Keefe has gotten a brand-new position with the New Jersey Devils, weeks after being sacked by the Maple Leafs. The announcement is anticipated to happen this week, albeit it is not official yet.
Keefe appears to be a perfect fit for a youthful club that features several elite players. If he has the means to persuade people to adopt his method and effectively progress toward their destiny, only time will tell. The Devils do not intend to repeat their year-long absence from the postseason.
The Maple Leafs, who will no longer be responsible for Sheldon's multi-year deal, will also benefit greatly from this.
