Johnny & Matthew Gaudreau receive beautiful tribute from the Philadelphia Flyers
Johnny Gaudreau and Matthew Gaudreau passed away almost a month ago and fans still cannot believe the tragedy that occurred.
Throughout the early going of this NHL season, the brothers will be the subject of tributes from around the league. A lot of these tributes are highly anticipated, epsecially when it comes to the Columbus Blue Jackets and the Calgary Flames.
Having said that, the Philadelphia Flyers paid tribute to the brothers with a video on their jumbotron prior to a preseason game against the New York Islanders.The Gaudreau brothers loved the Flyers growing up, so it makes sense that the team would do this. Not to mention, their father Guy was at a Flyers practice earlier this week.
This is certainly going to be a difficult season for the Gaudreau family. In an Instagram post, Meredith Gaudreau admitted as much. However, there is no doubt that the hockey community has come together to honor the brothers, and make the family feel some sort of comfort during this dark time.
"I've been having a hard time as Noa's 2nd birthday approaches. She loves watching videos of daddy before bed especially her requests for «daddy hockey» which led me to these videos. She loves watching him play and cheering for him through the screen. His biggest fan. They loved each other so much. She even has the same freckle as him on her right cheek. And as she approaches turning 2 I have been told their personalities are getting to be more and more similar and I can't wait for that to continue"
