Carter Hart's future in the NHL is up in the air, but after the latest report on the 27-year old goaltender, we know one Penguins rival he won't be signing with.
After being cleared to return to the NHL in 2025/26, there's been plenty of speculation over the future of former Philadelphia Flyers goaltender Carter Hart.
The 27-year old is drawing interest from around the National Hockey League, and while some teams will shy away from signing him due to the potential backlash from fans, there's other teams that are interested in bringing him in.
Carter Hart rules out a return to the Philadelphia Flyers
According to Briere, Hart's agent recently reached out and informed the team that he's looking for a fresh start, and given that he wants to play in the US rather than Canada, that's at least 8 teams that can now be ruled out.
Beyond that however, Pittsburgh, Carolina and Utah are three teams that are still reportedly taking a look at the former second-round pick, and with all the interest, it appears as though he'll be getting another shot in the NHL as soon as he's able to sign a new deal.
Ultimately, the drama off the ice is going to turn some teams off, but the talent will intrigue other teams, meaning that wherever he ends up, Hart is going to get the opportunity to prove his worth again, despite any potential backlash that could come from fans as a result.
