Philadelphia Flyers star Travis Konecny and his family experienced an unthinkable tragedy on Tuesday night as their Haddonfield, New Jersey home burst into flames.
The home was destroyed in the fire, with two firefighters getting injured during the efforts to stop the blaze. They were burned but did not need to be hospitalized. Meanwhile, multiple fire companies had to come and fight the fire as it was quickly spiraling out of control. It was eventually put out about half an hour after midnight.
Konecny and his family were not home at the time of the fire, which is perhaps the one silver lining in all of this.
"Crews placed the fire under control at 12:38 a.m. Wednesday, with help from nearby communities' fire departments. Two Cherry Hill firefighters sustained minor burns but didn't need hospital treatment."
Our thoughts and prayers are with Konecny and his family during this extremely difficult time. It is never easy to go through something like this, and we're just glad that his family was unharmed throughout all of this. The firefighters who worked so diligently are heroes who should be commended.
