The Penguins have been falling over the past few years, but with the turnaround under Kyle Dubas, the organization is finally seeing progress per Steven Ellis.
The Pittsburgh Penguins have been floundering over the past five years, and after finally stumbling to miss the Stanley Cup Playoffs in the past three, the team is now being forced into a rebuild.
While that may bring frustration to some, for others, it's a long time coming, and with Kyle Dubas at the helm, there is plenty of optimism that this team can take the steps necessary to get back into contention in the next few seasons.
"Pittsburgh's rebuild is going to be a slow one, but they're starting to actually make true progress for the first time since the team's last Stanley Cup in 2017."
This season, the team added Ben Kindel, Will Horcruff and Bill Zonnon in the first round, and with the likes of Rutger McGroarty and Ville Koivunen making the jump to the NHL last season, there are definite signs that a bright future may be ahead in Pittsburgh.
