Penguins head coach Dan Muse revealed that Arturs Silovs will start in goal tonight vs. the Wild, and he also provided an update on Filip Hallander's blood clot.

Arturs Silovs was the first goalie off during Friday's morning skate, NHL insider Dan Potash reports, signaling that he'll draw the home start against the Wild.
That was later confirmed by Dan Muse and reported by NHL insider Seth Rorabaugh. Muse also provided an update on Jack St. Ivany's injury as well as Filip Hallander's blood clot.

What Filip Hallander is now permitted to do

St. Ivany wore a regular contact jersey today in practice and is progressing well from his suspected right foot injury. In terms of Hallander, he is now permitted to do some physical activity off the ice, which shows he is recovering from his blood clot.
Silovs has struggled to enter the win column over the past month, as he's gone just 1-1-4 across his last six starts despite a decent 2.56 GAA and .917 save percentage during those games.

Why Arturs Silovs will have a favorable matchup vs. the Wild

He'll have a favorable matchup against the Wild, who are scoring just 2.76 goals per game this year, which is tied for the seventh-worst mark in the NHL, although they have picked up the tempo in their play recently.
Turning our attention back to Hallander, the team announced in early November that he had been diagnosed with a blood clot in his leg and would miss a minimum of three months. The fact that he can start doing some physical work is a great sign.
The puck is set to be dropped at 7 PM ET tonight at PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
