Elliotte Friedman Reveals When Penguins GM Kyle Dubas Could Kick Off Big Trade Moves

The Pittsburgh Penguins were the centre of so much trade speculation heading into the off-season, with even Sidney Crosby's name been thrown into trade rumours after the team's recent struggles that have seen them miss the post-season for three years running.

While there's been some pushback on the Penguins potentially trading out some veterans, it's been labelled as a necessary move by a top Penguins insider, with many believing that Erik Karlsson, Rickard Rakell and Bryan Rust could be among those players moved this off-season.

However, there's been little movement on that front so far, with NHL Insider Elliotte Friedman now providing the latest update on the Penguins off-season, revealing when the team may begin trading some of their veterans.

According to Friedman, there's nothing imminent right now, but heading towards training camp when players get back on the ice together and organizations come together, there's a good chance that things heat up for the Penguins.

Unfortunately, that is the time where injuries or struggles in training camp can occur, and while Dubas has very high asking prices as of right now, when that time comes, there could be teams out there ready to meet that price.

For Penguins fans waiting for moves however, don't expect anything anytime soon, as the NHL off-season has continued to be very quiet and boring, but when things heat up once more, expect the Penguins and Kyle Dubas to be right in the thick of the action.
