Ex-Penguins Employee Joins Montreal Canadiens Affiliate in New Role
Cam Batty played a small role as assistant equipment manager with the Penguins organization years ago, and now, he's moved on to the Trois-Rivieres Lions.
Back in 2019/20, Cam Batty played the role of assistant equipment manager with the Wilkes-Barre Scranton Penguins, and despite moving on rather quickly, he's held in high esteem by those in the Penguins organization.
Now, the 29-year old is officially moving on, with an announcement from the Trois-Rivieres Lions revealing that he will join the Montreal Canadiens ECHL affiliate in some capacity this off-season.
Trois-Rivieres Lions Add Experience to Hockey Operations
In a recent announcement from the team, it was revealed that Batty will play a key role as an equipment manager for the talented ECHL squad, a major step up for the Wisconsin native.
In the past few years, Batty has been serving in the head equipment manager role for the USHL's Madison Capitals in recent years, and with his heritage coming from a Quebecois family, this fit in Quebec with his new team is a natural one.
Cam Batty's Path from Pittsburgh Penguins to the ECHL Lions
Batty's career in hockey didn't begin in Pittsburgh however, as he started in the NCAA Division 3 hockey with St. Norbert College, before joining the AHL and eventually the USHL.
Now, he's onto his fourth league as he joins the ECHL's Lions, and with a very successful organization and a bright future for the team, it's safe to say that this is a major step up for Batty as he is well on his way to working up to the NHL as a head equipment manager at some point.
