However, with the team now sitting at a 28-27-8 record and eight points shy of a Wild Card spot, their playoff hopes are fading, especially after trading away Jake Guentzel, a key asset.P.K. Subban, on ESPN's pre-game segment, critiqued GM Kyle Dubas with a pointed remark:
"Apparently, that's all it takes. You put on a pair of spectacles, it makes you the smartest person in the room. It's so disheartening to see Sidney Crosby like that. He deserves better."
The Penguins' disappointing season and the trade of Guentzel have led to scrutiny over Dubas's management. Subban further commented,
"I don't think they did that this year, that's a missed opportunity.
