Frank Seravalli Blasts Kyle Dubas and the Pittsburgh Penguins Ahead of Free Agency
Kyle Dubas and the Penguins are heading into this off-season with a big job to do, and a top insider has blasted their mindset ahead of a key summer for the team as they look to sell on some key pieces while they likely get worse for right now.
The Pittsburgh Penguins have had immense success over the past two decades, with that success mostly attributed to the core trio of
Sidney Crosby,
Evgeni Malkin and Kris Letang.
However, those days have clearly come to an end, as this is a team that's failed to reach the Stanley Cup Playoffs in three straight years, and as a result, the organization is looking to make some major changes under new Head Coach Dan Muse.
According to most, the Penguins are set to be the NHL's biggest sellers this off-season, and in his latest report, Frank Seravalli has confirmed the report, blasting the Penguins as the only team not wanting to get better this summer.
That means that the team are likely to sell on
Bryan Rust,
Rickard Rakell and
Erik Karlsson, and while that means they'll be getting solid future assets back in return, it doesn't bode well for their hopes in 2025/26, which is likely to be Malkin's final season with the team.
For those loyal fans, it's going to hurt for now seeing the team failing to get better in the summer, but for the future this is definitely worth it, as they are likely to stockpile draft picks that can help them build a winner for the future, and in an off-season where all other 31 teams are hoping to improve their rosters, it's safe to say that they can take advantage of that this summer.
