Hall of Famer and former Pittsburgh Penguins player Mark Recchi appeared on the Larry & The Big Man podcast and shared some untold stories with fans.

Penguins' Hall of Famer Mark Recchi was on the "Larry & The Big Man" podcast and spoke of some unknown stories from his playing days during his 22-year period of being in the NHL.
Recchi reminisced about playing junior hockey in Kamloops, BC, about how being drafted in the later rounds challenged him to work as hard as he ever had to in order to finally make it in the league.
He chuckled about playing through the "mullet phase" of his career in the latter stages of the '80s, where fans got to know him for his flamboyant hairstyles.

What Mark Recchi said about Mario Lemieux

The conversation then turned to Pittsburgh in the early 1990s and how they formed such an incredible dynasty. Recchi declared Mario Lemieux "the greatest ever" in terms of his playing ability and how he was able to lead the team through injury.
Recchi revisited the Cup win in 1991 and playing against the New Jersey Devils, as well as the chemistry that brought a second championship in a row to the city of Pittsburgh.
Recchi then chatted about how Jaromir Jagr learned from the veteran players in Pittsburgh when he was just a youngster, and followed that up by saying he scored his first goal in the NHL with the help of Lemieux.
In his second stint with Pittsburgh, Recchi got to play alongside star center Sidney Crosby. Recchi said Crosby was like a machine that was obsessed with every little detail.
During the Stanley Cup Playoffs of 2009, Recchi scored 14 points at the golden age of 41 to show he was ageless and still able to contribute in the NHL.

Why it was so hard for Mark Recchi to say goodbye to Pittsburgh

He discussed being traded in and out of the league as many as seven times and the emotional struggle of having to say goodbye to Pittsburgh the first time. Recchi said that the Steel City still feels like home to this day.
His interview ended with encouragement to the up-and-coming Penguins players and had some laughs about the good old days of fighting.
For Penguins fans, there are tons of stories from all different eras, from Lemieux to Jagr, and then Crosby, including the teams from every generation. What a moment this was.
