Sidney Crosby is keeping the door open on remaining with the Pittsburgh Penguins for another Stanley Cup run, according to The Athletic's Josh Yohe.

At 38 years old and with all the great things he has accomplished in the NHL, Sidney Crosby has every reason to consider his future. The Penguins have missed the playoffs in back-to-back seasons, and the roster is aging. But despite the odds, Crosby's dedication and commitment to the team aren't fading away.

Crosby's Unwavering Belief in the Penguins Signals His Commitment to Winning in Pittsburgh

Josh Yohe of The Athletic offered insight into Crosby's mindset in his latest piece when he was asked to reveal if the player believes he can still win in Pittsburgh or wants to remain in Pittsburgh to retire after playing for a single team his whole career.
In his own words:
Is Sid's stance on no trade about his one-uniform legacy or does he really believe he can still win here?

Probably both, but he always thinks they can win.

When I sit down with Crosby during training camp, we chat about the team. On the record, off the record, whatever. I just like to get a feel for what he thinks about the current team. He's the ultimate optimist. He always thinks they're going to win and always means it sincerely. I have no doubt he's thinking about the upcoming season and concocting a way for this team to be better than expected.

The idea of Crosby finishing his career as a one-team legend like Mario Lemieux did is clearly part of the conversation. But according to Yohe, it's about belief more than legacy.
That relentless optimism is a defining trait. It's what's helped Crosby lead the Penguins to three Stanley Cups and stay competitive in a league that keeps getting faster and younger.
It'll be interesting to see what goes on in Pittsburgh over the coming months. Stay tuned for more.
