Josh Yohe Reports That 'No Team' is Willing to Trade for Kris Letang Despite His History
Kris Letang's NHL future is up in the air, but now a top Penguins reporter has revealed that there's simply no interest in him around the league.
For a long, long time, Kris Letang has been a constant on the Pittsburgh Penguins blue line, playing a key role in the three Stanley Cups won in the modern era by this organization.
However, he's now getting up there in age at 38, and given that the Penguins are looking to get younger this summer, it's no surprise that there's a desire with this team and this fanbase to move on from a veteran like Letang.
Unfortunately for those people that want to see him gone, a new report from Josh Yohe reveals absolutely no interest around the league for Letang, with teams not wanting to take a chance on a player his age as he begins his decline at the top level.
Kris Letang - As I reported last week, no NHL teams are willing to take on Letang in a trade. His age, contract and health are working against him. He still has three years left on his contract and will be staying in Pittsburgh.
While Kyle Dubas and the Pittsburgh Penguins are ready to deal this summer, the interest remains in
Bryan Rust,
Erik Karlsson and
Rickard Rakell, with teams simply unwilling to pay the final three years of Letang's deal, as he's owed $6.1 million per season in that time.
Last season, the veteran tallied just 30 points in 74 games played, and given his history as an offensive producer, it's clear that it's only downhill from here, and even with a red-hot first half in 2025/26, there's still likely 0 chance he gets moved anytime soon by the Penguins.
