Kris Letang requested trade to the Montreal Canadiens: Report

Over the years, there have been some trade rumors involving Kristopher Letang. This is especially true now that he is going into the third year of his massive deal. In a report from Mark Madden of 105.9 the X, it was revealed that Letang actually requested a trade recently.

After missing the playoffs, Letang reportedly told the Penguins that he wanted to go home and play for the Montreal Canadiens. For whatever reason, the tires were kicked on a trade, but the Habs decided to go in another direction.

Overall, the Habs are a team that is looking to get a whole lot younger. They don't necessarily want to add aging players to their core, and that is a valid enough reason not to make the trade. Clearly, Habs GM Kent Hughes is focused on the team's future, which has never looked brighter.
