Vincent Trocheck trade chatter is heating up around the New York Rangers, and it feels like a moment Kyle Dubas cannot ignore.
On DFO Rundown, Mike Rupp flat-out picked Trocheck as the guy he thinks is a “lock” to get moved.
That kind of line does not come out unless league people are sniffing smoke.
Multiple reports have also pegged Trocheck as a likely deadline piece with New York sliding toward seller mode.
The Rangers sit 22-29-6, and the vibes scream reset.
Here’s the clip link for context.

Trocheck has 12-24-36 in 43 games, and he still takes heavy matchup minutes.
He is also wearing an “A” in New York this season, which tells you how the room values him.
Vincent Trocheck would instantly change the Pittsburgh Penguins
Penguins fans are tired of watching other teams solve their middle-six first.
Pittsburgh is 29-15-12, and that record is good, not safe.
Dubas has to treat this like an arms race in the Metro, not a bargain hunt.
Trocheck plays with bite, wins draws, and lives in the hard areas between the dots.
He also carries a $5.625 million cap hit through 2028-29, so the math matters.
If New York wants futures, Pittsburgh has to decide what pain is tolerable.
The Rangers already shipped out Artemi Panarin, so moving another core name is not crazy anymore.
Even if “lock” is spicy talk, the opportunity is real.
The next real test comes when NHL play resumes Thursday, February 26, and Dubas should be dialing before then.
