With the NHL trade deadline approaching NHL analyst Josh Yohe has connected the Pittsburgh Penguins to former top-five pick Shane Wright.
The Penguins find themselves in a difficult situation on the verge of the Stanley Cup Playoffs but still trying to rebuild for the future.
As a result, GM Kyle Dubas’ plans for the deadline remain unknown as some fans want him to go all-in while others want to stick to the rebuild plan.
This evening, Penguins analyst Josh Yohe has suggested a move to bring in Seattle Kraken forward Shane Wright to satisfy both the all-in and rebuild fans.

In a new article for The Atheltic, Yohe explored several players the Penguins could look to land at the trade deadline.
One player he suggested in former exceptional status prospect Shane Wright who now plays for the Seattle Kraken.
Word is that Seattle might be ready to move on from Wright, once considered the slam-dunk No. 1 pick in his draft year, only to fall to No. 4.
If the Kraken are willing to move him, this is the classic player that Dubas loves to target. He’s 22. He’s got talent. He’s under organizational control for a while.
Wright has struggled to produce this season in a limited role for the Kraken but Yohe believes he could be the perfect upside bet in the long-term to potentially help replace Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin.
Sidney Crosby won’t be around forever. Evgeni Malkin turns 40 this summer, and we don’t even know if the Penguins will bring him back. Novak can play center or wing. Having Wright and Ben Kindel down the middle wouldn’t be the worst idea. - Josh Yohe
Wright this season at 22 years old has 18 points in 52 games but has shown upside for much more production in the past.
As more information is provided on the Penguins’ trade deadline plans we will pass the news along to you.
