Sidney Crosby is arguably the greatest NHL player in history, and now, he's been honoured for that by being named to the league's quarter century team.
Ever since the moment he debuted in the NHL, Sidney Crosby has been one of the best players in the league, and even with all of the pressure that came with him before his debut, he's managed to live up to even the loftiest of expectations.
With three Stanley Cup's and one of the most consistent careers in NHL history behind him, at 37-years of age, Crosby has been honoured by the NHL in their latest announcement on Friday.
According to the announcement on social media, Crosby has been named to the NHL's Quarter Century Team, a team that includes some of the greatest players in NHL history, with the league revealing the best team to take the ice since the 2000 season.
Not only was Crosby named, but so too was his star teammate
Evgeni Malkin, who has been noted by many to be one of, if not the most underrated player in this era of the NHL.
Between the two, there have been 3 Hart Trophies, 3 Stanley Cups, 4 Art Ross Trophies, 11 All-Star appearances and over 4,000 points, and given that they've been teammates for their entire NHL careers, it's only appropriate that they are both named to the team together given their immense success.
Ultimately, this is one of the biggest honours that the NHL can bestow upon these two, who are both bound for the Hockey Hall of Fame and likely to have their numbers retired by the Penguins when their careers are over, and this is just another honour to add to the list of accomplishments these star teammates have achieved together.
