The Penguins signed Anthony Mantha this off-season, and now a trade proposal sees him dealt to Kyle Dubas' former team in Toronto for a talented young winger.

Earlier this off-season, the Pittsburgh Penguins started free agency with a solid move, as they signed talented veteran winger Anthony Mantha to a one-year deal at $2.5 million.
This comes after playing just 13 games with the Flames a year ago where Mantha tallied 4 goals and 7 points alongside a +6 differential, showing how good the 30-year old can be when fully healthy.

Could Anthony Mantha Replace Mitch Marner in Toronto's Top Six?

Before he's even played a game for Pittsburgh, there have been trade rumours around Mantha, as the Penguins may have signed him simply to flip him, with Heavy Sports recently proposing this intriguing deal for the veteran.
Penguins acquire: F Nick Robertson

Maple Leafs acquire: F Anthony Mantha

This one-for-one deal would see Toronto land a potential replacement for Mitch Marner in the top-six, while Pittsburgh land a young winger that could become a key piece of their core and grow alongside the young names currently on their roster for years to come.

Why the Penguins See Nick Robertson as a Key Trade Target

With Rutger McGroarty and Ville Koivunen debuting last season, the Penguins are growing a talented young core of wingers, and in the 23-year old Robertson, they could have another to lead them into the future.
Sure, he hasn't been perfect in the NHL, but Robertson has shown flashes of being a fantastic middle-six winger, and if the Penguins could pair him with either Evgeni Malkin or Sidney Crosby, they could no doubt get the best out of him if this proposed trade ever came to fruition.
