During this afternoon's game against the Winnipeg Jets the Penguins PR team took a dig at the officials for their controversial goalie interference call.

This afternoon, the Penguins hosted the Jets as they continued to try and cement their place in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
Early in the game, with the Penguins up 2-0, Jets forward Morgan Barron seemingly scored a big goal for Winnipeg but did so by making contact with goalie Arturs Silovs.
The play would be challenged by the Penguins who claimed that Barron interfered with Silovs but their challenge was ultimately unsuccessful leaving fans irate.
During the intermission, the Penguins PR team also was seemingly quite upset as they printed out and highlighted the goalie interference rule that seems to have been enforced incorrectly.

During the first intermission, the Penguins PR team distributed a print out of the NHL rule book with a passaged highlighted regarding goalie interference.
If a defending players has been pushed, shoved, or fouled by an attacking player so as to cause the defending player to come into contact with his own goalkeeper, such contact shall be deemed contact initiated by the attacking player for purposes of this rule and if necessary a penalty is assessed to the attacking player and if a goal is scored it would be disallowed.
With this interpretation of the rule, not only should the goal have been disallowed but a penalty also should have been assessed to Morgan Barron.
Instead, the goal was allowed sending the game eventually to a shootout where the Penguins would still be able to pull out the win.
