Tonight, Pittsburgh Penguins 2025 first-round pick Will Horcoff has gotten off to a tremendous start in the NCAA.

Over the last 2 seasons, Pittsburgh Penguins have completely overhauled their prospect system adding a tremendous amount of talent.
This addition of young talent was highlighted by the Penguins using three first-round picks in the 2025 NHL Draft.
In short order, 11th overall pick Ben Kindel has impressed the front office and still has a chance to make the opening night lineup.
Now, their latest first-rounder in 2025 Will Horcoff has made a statement himself in the first game of the season for the University of Michigan.

Will Horcoff Starts on a Blazing Pace in the NCAA

Tonight, Horcoff and Michigan began their season against Mercyhurst at home in Ann Arbor.
Heading into his second season in the NCAA and first full year with Michigan Horcoff has been expected to take a major step forward and show fans why Kyle Dubas and the Penguins' front office decided to take a chance on him in the late first round.
The Wolverines outmatched Mercyhurst and dominated the game with Horcoff being a major reason why Michigan succeeded.
In the second period, Horcoff got off to a strong start tallying his first goal of the season.
He then followed that up less than a minute into the third period with a second goal.
Then, finally, Horcoff tallied a third goal completing the natural hat trick on the power play.
Horcoff was an absolute standout during the Penguins' prospect camp leading his team to the finals and have several dominant individual moments.
With him and Ben Kindel at the forefront of the Penguins future it seems the organization is in good hands even beyond the end of the careers of Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin.
Now, it will be up to these prospects to carry this early season momentum into dominant play as the year goes on to separate themselves as some of the top young talents in the NHL.
