Penguins Star Forward Sidney Crosby Makes Shocking Revelation, per Josh Yohe
Sidney Crosby recently revealed to the media that despite the struggles of the current Penguins team, this is one of the hardest-working teams he's been part of.
The Penguins simply refuse to quit, no matter what. A week ago, their third-period collapse against the Islanders appeared to suck the final bit of life out of whatever momentum they still had. But that was not the case.
With help from where it was anticipated and where it was not, Pittsburgh's offense blew up in a 6-3 victory over the Blue Jackets on Friday night at PPG Paints Arena.
With wins in five of their last six games, the Penguins have been carried by their scorching offense, which has produced 20 goals in their last four games.
Sidney Crosby was again the instigator, netting his 25th goal of the season and setting up another.
He is now four points from securing a 20th consecutive season at a point-per-game or better rate, a record that would surpass Wayne Gretzky's benchmark.
Some of the better teams of Crosby's past have been lazier than this group
One thing is sure, though: this team plays with unlimited energy most nights, which most teams in their position don't, as Crosby spoke to
Josh Yohe about this.
"I assure you that Crosby appreciates how hard his team plays.
While chatting with him after practice earlier this week, he commented that some of the great Penguins teams he's played for in the past have endured more no-shows than this team has.
And you know what? He's right. Even though this isn't a good Penguins team, how many times have they simply not shown for a game? The opener against the Rangers, sure. In Philadelphia last month, yes. The third period in Vegas, OK. They had a couple of other terrible losses against Utah and Carolina. But the point is, every team has a few terrible losses in the course of a season."

Ultimately, the story of this season will be one of what could have been, as suspect goaltending and defensive breakdowns were too costly.
Crosby himself, however, is one heck of a player. His skating was as good as it's been all year last night versus Columbus, an ability that's too often underappreciated.
He was zooming around the rink, overpowering young players, and extending his home-point streak to 12 games. Four points from making history, he's playing every night, and won't have any issue surpassing Gretzky.
