Pittsburgh Penguins Announce Update for 2025-26 Season

The Pittsburgh Penguins have missed the Stanley Cup Playoffs for three straight seasons, and for many fans, that's given them very little reason to care or invest in the upcoming 2025/26 campaign.

With one of the greatest players of all-time and a very intriguing young names looking to make roster spots their own however, this is going to be a very intriguing campaign, one that begins with the team taking on the New York Rangers in an opening night triple-header.

Now, we officially know another intriguing piece of the team's schedule for next season, as the team announced on social media the details of their highly anticipated home opener.

That will take place just two days after the opener against the Rangers on October 9th as the team do battle with another Metropolitan Division foe in the form of the New York Islanders.

While the season as a whole may not provide that much excitement, opening night is always a thrill, and with Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin partaking in what could potentially be their final home opener as members of the Penguins, this one will be worth tuning into.

In the off-season, the team have improved their forward core on the back of debuts last season for both Rutger McGroarty and Ville Koivunen, and while there still may be changes before the team officially take the ice in October, as of now, optimism will no doubt be high ahead of these two iconic matchups.
