Ben Kindel is already producing in the NHL, and the Penguins prospects picture suddenly hits different.
The Olympic pause sparked a fresh PensBurgh check-in on the Penguins' top players Under 25, and it’s a mix of real momentum and brutal injury luck.
Kindel has 14-13-27 in 53 NHL games, and that’s not empty noise for a teenager.
He’s 18, drafted in 2025, Round 1, and the Pittsburgh Penguins took him 11th overall.
Bill Zonnon has popped early too, with 7-18-25 in 20 QMJHL games.
Zonnon is 19, drafted in 2025, Round 1, and the Pittsburgh Penguins grabbed him 22nd overall.
Will Horcoff has been a finisher, posting 20-12-32 in 28 Big Ten games.
Horcoff is 19, drafted in 2025, Round 1, and the Pittsburgh Penguins picked him 24th overall.

Joona Vaisanen getting knocked out for the season and Peyton Kettles losing time with a shoulder injury is the ugly part of the update.
Tanner Howe finally got moving after a torn ACL rehab, but the system keeps taking hits at the worst times.
Ben Kindel gives the Pittsburgh Penguins real future juice
You can feel the fanbase trying to believe once again, while still flinching at every injury report.
Avery Hayes ripping 16-10-26 in 32 AHL games, plus a first NHL goal, screams “keep an eye on this.”
Between the pipes, Joel Blomqvist’s 8-4-3 with a .916 and 2.43 keeps the depth chart honest.
The real test now is whether Rutger McGroarty and Ville Koivunen turn promise into daily NHL habits after the break.
