NHL reporter and Pittsburgh Penguins insider Rob Rossi has had the inside scoop on the negotiations. Although he believes that Crosby and the Penguins are likely to agree to a new contract, he believes there could be some slight trouble afoot. He says this because of some recent comments that were made by Crosby that have flown under the radar for quite some time.
A Twitter user replied with these comments in which Crosby admitted that Kyle Dubas may have to trade him if he feels like that is the right move. Moreover, Crosby revealed that he wants to contend for another title. Based on where the Penguins are right now, some are taking this as a sign that a deal may not actually happen.
It has also been reported that Crosby is looking for a short-term deal that would not exceed three years. Whether or not the Penguins want to commit to that kind of contract, remains to be seen. Only time will tell whether or not both sides will be able to come to terms. If not, then the end of an era could be on the horizon.
