Sidney Crosby hit with dirty player accusations after losing in a horrific blowout
Sidney Crosby is a legend in the game of hockey and at this stage in his career, his legend has been cemented, however, he still wants a fourth Stanley Cup with the Pittsburgh Penguins.
If he can get it, he would tie Wayne Gretzky for four Cups and with his impressive points totals, Crosby would have an argument as a top two or three player in the history of the NHL. Having said that, the Penguins are not good this season and everyone can see it. Case in point, they lost their season opener by a score of 6-0.
Goaltender
Tristan Jarry was not great the Penguins defense looked downright awful. Meanwhile, the Penguins forwards were not getting much done and it seemed like Crosby was getting awfully frustrated. In fact, he cross-checked an opponent in the face and was then seen swatting at another Rangers player.
Some fans believe that this is proof that Crosby is somehow a dirty player of sorts. However, this is a bit of an over-exaggeration. At the end of the day, this is hockey and he was just feeling frustrated and rightfully so. His team was terrible and this was supposed to be a big game for everyone involved.
Hopefully, the Penguins can figure it out sooner rather than later. It would be a real shame for the Penguins to be in this predicament for much longer. Crosby deserves to play for a real contender.
