Sidney Crosby Loses It After Taking Slashing Call at Men's Worlds
Sidney Crosby is leading Team Canada at Worlds, and in their latest game, the captain lost it after being called for slashing by the officials, giving them an almighty ear full as he was on his way to the penalty box for a questionable call.
Sidney Crosby is known as one of the best leaders in the NHL, with his patience and leadership on the ice showing through after being captain of the Pittsburgh Penguins for nearly two decades.
Sometimes however, his frustration shows through after getting a questionable call, and on Sunday in a matchup against Latvia, the Penguins captain lost it after being called for slashing.
On his way to the penalty box, Crosby was not shy about letting the officials know how he felt about what he believed to be a bad call, but ultimately, as it always does, it didn't change the mind of the official.
Thankfully it didn't hurt the team too much as they cruised to a 7-1 victory, with three assists to Crosby and three points to
Travis Konecny leading what was a dominant performance as Canada now sit at 2-0 in the tournament with just one goal allowed thus far.
While it's definitely not out of character to see a hockey player in an emotionally charged environment lose his cool, it's not common to see from Crosby, as he's usually good at holding it in and respecting the officials.
However, it's hard to argue with Crosby's frustration in this situation as it was a questionable call from the officials, but ultimately it didn't change the outcome for Team Canada, as the star studded team would continue their red-hot start to this tournament.
