Today was a special day for both Sidney Crosby and Marc-Andre Fleury, as they got to practice again, after which the Penguins captain had heartfelt words to say.

It was the beginning of a wonderful weekend for the Pittsburgh Penguins and their fans, meant to erase any old wounds and put right what once went wrong.
Marc-Andre Fleury's retirement weekend began on Friday afternoon at the UPMC Lemieux Complex, and even his entrance brought a standing ovation from all of the supporters in attendance.

Marc-Andre Fleury Will Play in One Period on Saturday Against Columbus

The Penguins' championship core was part of the afternoon practice session that featured Fleury in advance of him playing one period in Saturday's preseason game against the Columbus Blue Jackets, a nice finishing touch to such a lovely career.
Fleury did stack the pads in a barrel roll save against Sidney Crosby, which sent the fans into an absolute frenzy.
Crosby and the Penguins veterans were among a small group of players who began practice with Fleury on Rink #1, while the remainder of the larger practice group went to Rink #2. It's pretty safe to say, we all know which rink had more fans in attendance.
Evgeni Malkin and Kris Letang were also in the group that featured Crosby and Fleury. It was like 2009 all over again, but minus a Stanley Cup.
The crowd of Penguins fans filled the practice rink to capacity well before 10 a.m., gathering and waiting in line to catch a glimpse of the future Hall of Famer for the noon practice.
After practice, Crosby spoke about Fleury, sharing a truly heartfelt message about his amazing legacy.
"He always showed up and worked hard, always had a smile on his face, and that hasn't changed from his first day to now. Above and beyond what he's accomplished, that's the most impressive part."

- Sidney Crosby
The weekend ahead not only honors Fleury's career but also serves as a reminder of the memories he helped create around the league.
Pittsburgh fans have always cherished his talent and infectious personality, and this one-of-a-kind sendoff ensures his legacy will remain a lasting part of the Penguins' story forever.
