Tonight, Sidney Crosby has spent a special message to his teammates in Pittsburgh after suffering a disappointing injury while playing for Canada at the Olympic Games.

Sidney Crosby was forced to miss Canada's gold medal game against the United States with what at the time was an unknown injury.
Since arriving back to Pittsburgh, Crosby has been further evaluated and was diagnosed with an MCL injury that will keep him out for at least a month.
Now, with the announcement made, Crosby has come out and sent a passionate and heartfelt message to his teammates in Pittsburgh.

Sidney Crosby sends a heartfelt message to his teammates after frustrating injury

With the Penguins in a battle for the Stanley Cup Playoffs, Crosby's injury has shaken the fan base leaving many wondering if Pittsburgh can still make the playoffs at all.
In a new interview, Crosby stated his clear belief in his teammates to continue winning and be able to bring the Penguins to the playoffs.
I'm confident. I think we've shown all year that we have injuries, and guys have stepped up to get to where we are at this point. I think that is because of our team play and not any one person. I think it's because, collectively, as a group we've found ways to win, and different guys have stepped up.
In the past, when Crosby has gone out fellow superstar Evgeni Malkin has taken his game to another level and been dominant.
This season, Malkin has played well but not at an elite level and that is a threshold the Penguins will need him to find if they want to fill Crosby's production.
In addition, the Penguins will need to find production from unlikely heroes whether that be rookie Ben Kindel, or veterans like Kevin Hayes and Tommy Novak moving up the lineup.
As the Penguins get back into action it will be interesting to see if they can fill Crosby's void of if they'll struggle to stay afloat in the Eastern Conference.
