Arturs Silovs starts for the Pittsburgh Penguins vs the Ottawa Senators, and the injury cloud over the blue line finally lifts a little.

Silovs was the first goalie off the ice at the morning skate, the usual tell that he owns the crease tonight.
His 2025-26 line sits at 10-6-8 with a 2.96 GAA and .894 save percentage, so the workload is real, even if the results swing.
The Penguins enter Monday at 28-14-11, and Ottawa rolls in at 26-21-7, so these points matter in the Metro grind.
Practice also brought a much-needed sight, Ryan Graves and Caleb Jones were both skating again, and Evgeni Malkin was out there with the expected group.
This post captured the full-skate return for the two defensemen.
"Ryan Graves and Caleb Jones, who have both been sidelined due to injury, are on the ice for a full Pens morning skate after a day off on Sunday.

All other expected players are present, including Evgeni Malkin."

This one underlined the obvious, any progress from Graves and Jones changes the depth chart fast.

Arturs Silovs pushes Pittsburgh Penguins into a grind

Penguins fans have been begging for one normal morning skate, and even this tiny bit of health feels like a win.
If Graves can simply eat minutes, it settles everyone else into better slots, he has 1-0-1 in 19 games this season.
Jones is more of a puck-mover option, and he’s at 0-1-1 in seven games, but just having another body matters with a beat-up group.
Now it’s on Silovs to give them clean touches and a calm first ten minutes, because Ottawa will pressure any shaky exits.
