Tonight, a new report has suggested that goaltender Stuart Skinner's time in Pittsburgh could already be coming to an end at the trade deadline.

Earlier this season, the Pittsburgh Penguins and Edmonton Oilers pulled off a blockbuster goaltender swap which seems to have helped both teams.
In the deal, the Penguins acquired Stuart Skinner who immediately became their starter and has since played 13 games with Pittsburgh.
In those 13 games, Skinner has a 2.72 goals against average and a 0.887 save percentage which are solid but not fantastic numbers.
Despite his relative success since arriving in Pittsburgh, reports now seem to indicate the Penguins are hoping to trade Skinner before the deadline.

Penguins contemplating big time trade involving goaltender Stuart Skinner

According to insider Frank Seravalli, Skinner is a highly coveted player on the trade market with multiple teams sending trade offers.
Due to the Penguins' strong depth in goal both in the NHL and the AHL Seravalli believes the Penguins would be willing to move on from Skinner.
There's a bunch of teams that are saying, well, if the price was right and if there were no strings attached...then yeah maybe; Montreal; maybe the Sens make sense; what about the Hurricanes - Frankly Hockey (2/25)
With the Penguins in the playoff race, they are likely not itching to get rid of Skinner but if a team sends them an incredible offer could be convinced.
Additionally, Skinner is on an expiring contract which could entice Kyle Dubas to get something for him instead of losing him for nothing.
Over the next couple of weeks, all eyes will be on Dubas to see if he pulls the trigger on a Skinner trade or uses him as a self rental to try and make the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
