Superstar Elias Pettersson Re-Enters the Trade Market: Kyle Dubas Must Act Fast

General Manager of the Pittsburgh Penguins Kyle Dubas can lead their organization in many different ways this off-season, as the team could look to re-tool around Sidney Crosby or look towards the future.

There have been many different options floated out there for both possibilities, and now, another has potentially joined the fray, as Frank Seravalli has made a very intriguing revelation.

According to Seravalli, the Canucks may be open to listening to offers on Elias Pettersson this off-season before his NTC kicks in on July 1st, and if that is the case, Dubas and the Penguins must strike.

At 26-years of age, EP40 would be the perfect protege for captain Sidney Crosby, and with his immense talent, he could help them for their push back into the Stanley Cup Playoffs next season.

Of course, there are some drawbacks, as Pettersson had some major struggles this last season, and acquiring him would require Pittsburgh to likely give up one of their top prospects, but if they believe he can be a long-term option at the 1 or 2C spot, he makes perfect sense.

Only time will tell whether or not Pettersson will be officially available, but if he is, Dubas would be silly not to at least make some offers to Vancouver, and after the two sides did business at the trade deadline, they're no strangers to each other.

Ultimately, it would be wise for the Penguins to target Pettersson, but the price will play a big role in getting it done, and if it's affordable, don't be surprised to see them in heavy pursuit.
