Top Remaining Free Agent's Contract Demands Leaked by Insider: Penguins Could Comfortably Afford Him

Many believed that the Pittsburgh Penguins would be big sellers coming into the 2025 off-season, but thus far, the veteran trio of Karlsson, Rust and Rakell have remained, despite all of the speculation.

In that time, the Penguins have made some smaller pickups that have fans excited, with Anthony Mantha the biggest name to join the team thus far, with some now believing they could be looking to add another buy low free agent.

That leads us to 28-year old centre Jack Roslovic, who spent the 2024/25 campaign with the Carolina Hurricanes, tallying 22 goals and 39 points throughout the season, and now, he's looking to cash in as a free agent.

Currently, he's likely the best player remaining on the free agent market, and according to Cam Robinson, he could be had on a multi-year deal worth just over $3 million per season.

While that's not exactly the cheapest contract in the NHL, for a player that's scored 39 or more points 3 times in the past four seasons, as a third line centre, he'd be a great pickup for Pittsburgh or any team looking for depth down the middle.

Currently, the Penguins have little centre depth beyond their two stars in Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin, and while they may want to try Tommy Novak down the middle, for just $3 million a year, Roslovic would be a great pickup.

On top of that, if things work well, he would be a fantastic trade piece at the deadline if the team end up playing the way most expect them too, so while they aren't the favourites to land the 28-year old, don't be shocked to hear them connected to him in the coming weeks.
