NHL insider Chris Johnston has released his latest NHL trade board, and Bryan Rust, as well as Brett Kulak, are now featured on it and could be moved.

Chris Johnston, a prominent NHL insider, has put out a new trade board in 'The Athletic', featuring two players from the Pittsburgh Penguins which are defenseman Brett Kulak and winger Bryan Rust. Kulak comes in at number 21 on the list.
The 32-year-old defenseman, fresh off his arrival from the Oilers in the trade that saw Stuart Skinner and Tristan Jarry swap teams, plays a depth role and could interest a contending team looking to add a veteran presence on the back end.

What Brett Kulak has done for the Penguins since his arrival

Since being traded from the Oilers, Kulak has appeared in 10 games for Pittsburgh, where he has accumulated two assists, 20 blocked shots, and a neutral plus/minus rating, pretty solid numbers.
This is a significant improvement from his Edmonton stint, during which he had just two assists and a minus-7 rating in 31 games.
Rust is listed in 32nd position on Johnston's list. The veteran winger has appeared in trade rumors quite a bit in the past, but the Penguins are currently not facing any kind of pressure to trade him away.

Why the Penguins could likely hang on to Bryan Rust

Rust is still signed by the team through the 2027-28 season, and if the team keeps winning, chances are high that he stays put.
Any trade involving Rust would likely involve quite a big haul going back in return to Pittsburgh, if they ever do decide to move on from him.
