Chaos Erupts After Player Attacks Goaltender During Intense AHL Matchup
Tensions flared tonight in the AHL matchup between the Montreal Canadiens and Ottawa Senators farm teams.
During Saturday night's game against the Laval Rocket VSBelleville Senators, forward Brennan Saulnier appeared to lose his cool and took out his frustrations on Rocket goaltender Kasimir Kaskisuo.
While Kaskisuo initiated physical contact by reaching his glove out and seemingly grabbing Saulnier as he passed by the net—a relatively minor move—Saulnier's response escalated the situation significantly. The Belleville forward decided to skate around the net and plowed through Kaskisuo with his momentum.
The impact sent Kaskisuo crashing hard onto the ice, triggering chaos as players and officials piled onto Saulnier.
The incident may result in further discipline for those involved.
