Adam Johnson's Teammate Makes A Shocking Decision After His Death
The hockey community mourns the tragic loss of American ice hockey player Adam Johnson, an event that has deeply affected teammates and those close to him.
Teammate Victor Björkung, who was on the ice during the fatal accident, has made the difficult decision not to return to the Nottingham Panthers. The 30-year-old Swedish native, playing his first season in the EIHL with the Panthers, had previously competed in Denmark, Slovakia, and Sweden.
Expressing the shock and trauma, Bjorkung shared:
"I have tried to suppress a lot - you are so shocked at the moment, everything goes so damn fast.
"One moment you have your friend there, the next second he's gone."
"It is the most traumatizing thing I have seen in my entire life - being on the ice when a friend I hold close dies like that, it's terrible."
Describing the incident as the most traumatizing moment of his life, being on the ice when a close friend passed away, Bjorkung acknowledged the support provided by the Panthers, including a psychologist and trauma team.
In these challenging times, everyone extends their heartfelt wishes to Bjorkung for his future.
