Auston Matthews officially signs extension with the Toronto Maple Leafs that makes him highest paid player
Earlier this afternoon Auston Matthews sent out a tweet that had everyone assuming he'd signed a new deal with the Toronto Maple Leafs.
I feel fortunate to continue this journey as a Maple Leaf in front of the best fans in hockey! I will do everything I can to help get us to the top of the mountain. GLG! #LeafsForever
Moments ago the Maple Leafs confirmed the news.
This deal makes Matthews the highest paid player in the league. According to Frank Seravalli the Maple Leafs wanted the deal to be longer, but Matthews wouldn't budge.
