Carolina Hurricanes Release Forward From His PTO Contract
Zach Aston-Reese is once again an unrestricted free agent. Yesterday the Carolina Hurricanes announced they had released the New York Native forward from his professional tryout (PTO) contract.
#Canes have released Zach Aston-Reese from his PTO. He scored 10 goals with the #Leafs last season.
Aston-Reese played last year for the Toronto Maple Leafs, after joining the team for a professional tryout. After a successful pre-season showing, Aston-Reese was signed to a one-year contract. He registered 10 goals and 14 points total in 77 games played for the team. He's got 307 games of NHL experience under his belt.
Aston-Reese would be a nice addition to a team looking to add some additional depth in their bottom-six.
The Carolina Hurricanes are seeking their fourth consecutive Metropolitan Division championship as their season begins at home, at the PNC Arena, versus the Ottawa Senators on Wednesday, October 11.
