Former NHL goaltender passes away at the age of 74-years-old
After a series of multiple passings, the NHL Alumni has once again announced the sad passing of another NHL veteran. The Boston Bruins Alumni made the announcement of the passing of former goaltender Gilles Gilbert. Gilbert was 74.
RIP Gilles Gilbert. A sad day for Bruins fans everywhere.
Gilbert started his NHL career during the 1969-70 season with the Minnesota North Stars. He would go on to play in 4 seasons for the North Stars before moving to the Boston Bruins, where he'd spend the next 7 years. Gilbert would finish his career playing 3 seasons for the Detroit Red Wings.
In 416 games in the NHL, Gilbert recorded 192 wins, 143 losses, 60 ties, a goals against average of 3.27, an .872 save percentage and 18 shutouts.
