Former Stanley Cup Champion Returns To Professional Hockey At 50-Years Old
Nikolai Khabibulin, the veteran goaltender, is making a surprising comeback at the age of 50, ending his retirement of over a decade.
Hockey News Hub, a reputable source for KHL updates, shared the news that Khabibulin, also known as the "Russian Jagr," has signed a one-way contract with Torpedo until the end of the season.
Turning 51 in January, Khabibulin, currently the goaltending coach for Torpedo, is stepping back onto the ice where he last played professionally for the Chicago Blackhawks in 2013.
With an impressive NHL career spanning 799 games and a Stanley Cup win in 2004 with the Tampa Bay Lightning, Khabibulin brings a wealth of experience to his return with Torpedo in the KHL.
