The NHL season is set to begin in just five days. Final rosters need to be submitted to the league by 5 p.m. ET on Tuesday, October 10th, half-an-hour before the first game of the new season between Tampa Bay and Nashville.
According to TSN's Chris Johnston, a total of 16 players were placed on the waiver wire on Thursday afternoon including former eighth overall pick Alexander Nylander. Let's take a look at the full list.
As is always the case from the opening of the waiver wire until the end of October, the order of teams that can place a claim is based off of last season's standings in reverse. The Anaheim Ducks get the first crack at placing a claim on any of the players above, followed by the Columbus Blue Jackets and Chicago Blackhawks.
