Instead the league decide to sign a deal with Biosteel to become the league's new partner. While the filing of doesn't ensure the company will close it will definitely mean major changes to their spending. In Q1 of 2023 Biosteel reportedly sold over 30 million dollars in product, but spent over 40 million in corresponding marketing. This included nearly $12,000,000 to the NHL. This means that every single product that was being sold, was sold at a loss.
