Kyle Dubas reportedly only willing to offer former 29 goal scorer a professional tryout

This week Tatar sat down with a European news outlet and shared his current status. Tatar shared he was still waiting to sign, and that it looked like the Pittsburgh Penguins had their eye on the veteran forward. Now it doesn't look like he'll sign a guaranteed deal with the team for next season.

According to Rob Rossi of The Athlectic, the Penguins have interest in Tatar, they are currently only willing to offer him a professional tryout.

Tatar, 32, played last season with the New Jersey Devils playing in all 82 games recording 20 goals and adding 28 assists for a total of 48 points.

While PTO's are more common in recent years due to cap constraints, a player of Tatar's status, coming off a season like he had last year should not be a player that has to sign a PTO to keep his career alive.
