Carolina Hurricanes let their General Manager interview for new job
Don Waddell, general manager of the Carolina Hurricanes, is expected to leave the team this summer due to an expiring contract, according to an insider.
For ten years, Don Wadell has served as the Carolina Hurricanes' general manager. Nonetheless, it seems that they are expected to part ways with their longtime general manager as his contract expires this summer.
As said by Pierre LeBrun of TSN Given that his contract is expiring this off-season, the hurricanes have granted Waddell freedom to speak with other clubs while he is still under contract.

In addition to the previously reported information, LeBrun stated that Waddell had an interview yesterday for the position of general manager of the Columbus Blue Jackets, which is now open.
And further to Elliotte, can also confirm Waddell interviewed with the Blue Jackets today
It seems likely that Waddell or the Hurricanes will determine he is no longer a good fit for the team when his contract expires this summer.
Caroline has had excellent regular season success, but much like the rest of the league, they have never been able to overcome it and have continued to have postseason success far into the second season. Even though they recently allowed Waddell to sign Rod Brind'Amour to a five-year contract extensionwhich is strange given that he's most likely going to depart the teamperhaps Carolina should move in a different way.
